Passing through
The places in-between.
Walking through a city reveals its hidden stories—those found not in the guidebooks or tourist attractions but in the quiet, overlooked spaces in between.
The attractions listed in the guides are often overcrowded or underwhelming. Walking through a place gives me the opportunity to see something else—a vulnerability not quite hidden and yet not entirely obvious. Public places momentarily abandoned, a park bench waiting for the lunchtime rush, or a pedestrian underpass where few linger.
These spaces are the connective tissue of a city, binding everything together, integrating, and at the same time blending into the background—disappearing. They allow people to move on to where they need or want to go without holding them back.
They offer a glimpse of what it might be like if we were to disappear—a moment of an alternate reality before the frame fills with life again.
In this series of images, I explore some of these places in-between.
